What an incredible day today at Pallas Karting, Tynagh County Galway, for the very first Sligo Pallets Forest Rally Championship J1000 Tuition day held in association with the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy (MIRallyAcademy).

21 J1000 drivers, 14 to 17 years old, gathered with their parents and guardians to avail of tuition from the Rally Academy tutors and members, led by Matt Edwards - Professional Rally Driver/Coach and assisted by Josh McErlean, William Creighton, Eamonn Kelly, Aoife Raftery, Jack Brennan and Kyle McBride, with Ronan Comerford and Lorcan Moore on hand for Navigation advice.

Academy Performance Lead Alan Heary held a workshop on progression in the sport and the requirements to succeed at the top, and this was aided by the guest appearance of Craig Breen who discussed his experiences moving up through the sport and what it takes to make it to the pinnacle of Rallying.

A third workshop led by Andy Walsh discussed the huge requirements of online profile, media awareness and how to make these stars more visible to sponsors as they progress.

The rain may have fallen heavily, but the huge crowd present left with heads full of knowledge and huge smiles on their faces.
