Rally Academy member Ronan Comerford has teamed up with Clare driver Niall O’Sullivan for the Monteberg Rally in Belgium. O’Sullivan is competing in the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup Belux in Belgium and Luxemburg this season in a Peugeot 208 Rally4. The Monteberg Rally uses the same roads as the famous Ypres Rally and Comerford is using the event as an opportunity to get familiar with the terrain ahead of a possible outing in Ypres in June.
“It’s my first time venturing into Europe & European events. I am very much looking forward to seeing how it operates and to get experience whilst guiding Niall around,” said Comerford.
“I am grateful to have been asked to sit in with Niall in his new Peugeot 208 Rally4 which is something I’m now used to here at home so I will be keen to show him the settings and what the car is capable of.
“The Rally Academy prepares me for this by working with people who have experience of European events already and sharing the wealth of knowledge they have, I’d like to thank them for that and I am looking forward to getting going.”
Niall’s father John has also entered the rally in a Citroen C2.
Ronan recently created a wonderful Vlog from the WRC Rally Croatia for the Krunching Gears Podcast. Check it out below.
